Finalists for the Best European Collaborations of 2024

The 2024 Finalists for Best Partnership or Collaboration are shining examples of what makes a good collaboration tick.

Earlier this year, as we launched a new season of the Lovie Awards, one resounding theme emerged: Europe’s Internet is in its collaboration era.

To recognise a region-wide surge in cross-sector partnerships, the 14th Annual Lovie Awards introduced new categories for Best Partnership or Collaboration across the competition. Additionally, for the first time, the Lovie Awards will bestow the special achievement honour of Collaboration of the Year to the cooperative project with the most finalists and wins across our categories.

The 2024 Lovie Finalists have been revealed, as well as the contenders for Collaboration of the Year. From reimagining interiors for younger audiences or democratising access to independent news, explore the online collaborations that are shaping culture, business and technology in Europe.

  • Marketing, Advertising & PR: Best Partnership or Collaboration

CATALOGUE!!! By Dazed x IKEA

Since 1950, IKEA has been known for capturing the state of design with its annual catalogues. To reimagine these iconic issues, DAZED and Ikea partnered on a one-off zine that explores the interior worlds of young people. The final result was a series of posters and stories. TYPES OF LIVING explored how Gen Z finds creative solutions in their space, while Dazed Fashion Director Imruh Asha created fashion editorials out of IKEA furniture. Vote for it here!

Crocs x Jacob Collier by Hey Honey

Hey Honey developed Crocs’ latest collaboration with the Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier. Together they created the first-ever ‘music-making Croc clog,’ which features a bell attached to the strap of the shoe. To celebrate the release, Hey Honey produced Collier’s music video for ‘WELLLL,’ a colorful and Croc-filled piece of art. Vote for it here!

Don't Drive and Dive by Wieden + Kennedy x Malibu Rum

One in four drownings in the UK can be linked to alcohol. This statistic fueled spirit brand Malibu Rum and Wieden + Kennedy to raise awareness. They partnered with Tom Daley, beloved British diver also known for knitting, to launch a line of knitted merch. Each contained a simple message: Don’t Drink and Dive. Vote for it here!

MALIBU X ARIES by The Absolut Group

The Absolut Group was early to experiment with AI for creative production, by partnering with artists who are already in the space. They partnered with ARIES, a cult-favourite streetwear label, to create a cross-sector collaboration. Together, they released a limited collection of streetwear inspired by Malibu Rum. To promote the collaboration, they built a marketing campaign entirely with hyper-real AI images. Vote for it here!

BMW x Lil Miquela: Make It Real Campaign by Monks

BMW gave AI-influencer Lil Miquela a chance at a human experience in its campaign for BMW. To promote the brand’s iX2 electric vehicle, they let the influencer test-drive the car, blending physical and digital realities. Vote for it here!

British Vogue x eBay Forces For Change by Condé Nast

eBay and British Vogue are giving young consumers greater access to second-land luxury. They leveraged the publishers’ storytelling to position eBay as a source for trusted, authenticated luxury items. Their campaign included a social series entitled Style Challenge, tasking leaders to find hand bags on eBay, red carpet moments with talent wearing eBay finds, and an auction of 50 items that had been featured throughout their content all year. Pink Chip by AKQA x DEGIRO x Thematic

Research shows that women-led businesses perform higher than businesses with men in leadership. However the market, and investors, are still biased against their potential. This insight led European investment platform DEGIRO, alongside AKQA and Thematic, to launch the Pink Chip. It is a live index that tracks the performance of women-led businesses, and measure it against industry benchmarks. Vote for it here.

Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Explained by Kreatives GmbH x Paralympic Committee

German agency Kreatives GmbH wanted to grow the fanbase for Paralympic sports. Ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, they launched an animated series to explain the 22 sports featured in this year’s games. The illustrated and animated videos showcase the unique colors and rules that shape each Paralympic sport. Vote for it here!

Digital Venue Planning by OnePlan x Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Committee

Planning the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is a large undertaking, from operations to infrastructure. OnePlan is a world-leading event site planning platform. As an official partner for this year’s Games, they deployed their Digital Twin Software to provide committee members life-like visualisations of every venue, streamline their operational planning. Divine, AI Sommelier by Moët Hennessy Wine Estate x Swipe Back

Moët Hennessy Wine Estates, the wine division of LVMH, wanted to give buyers and interactive experience to talk through wine recommendations. Their solution was Divine, an AI assistant that takes on the form of a living painting. Vote for it here!

Absolut Intelligence by The Absolut Company x COPY Lab

Algorithmic bias is still prevalent in AI models and systems. This runs the risk of perpetuating existing inequalities in society; evident as the advertising and marketing industries move to embrace AI. To lack of representation in advertising and marketing, Absolut Intelligence creates more inclusivity in AI imagery by generating images featuring gender, ethnicity age and body diversity. Just Eat Takeaways, home to Just Eat, GrubHub, SkipTheDishes, and Menulog is known for its on-demand food delivery. They have also been known for their “Did somebody say…” campaign, featuring star talent, since 2019. DEPT® and Just Eat tapped Christina Aguilera and Latto for their 2023 edition, and highlighted to unlikely duo they represented. Vote for it here!

Bluey Hammerbarn For Real Life by BBC Studios

During one episode of the beloved children’s show, the Heeler family heads to their local hardware store. BBC Studios helped Bluey team up with Bunnings, an Australian hardware chain, to give families across Australia and New Zealand the same experience. Vote for it here!
