Portraits of a Visionary: AKQA on Showing the Power of Women

A vignette of agency AKQA’s campaign to ‘prove the power’ of women-led businesses.

Portraits of a Visionary is a social series from The Lovie Awards that shares vignettes of the people, culture and ideas behind award-winning work—made in partnership with Finland-based agency 20/20 Helsinki.

Our final installment in the series takes a deeper look at the creative team behind AKQA’s Pink Chip, an online tool that tracks the success of women-led businesses for investors.

Biases hurt business. Gatekeeping women from the C-suite negatively impacts revenue, as it’s proven that companies with female leaders perform higher than the rest. Pink Chip addresses this issue, spotlighting successful women-led brands across the globe to push investors to check their prejudices. We spoke with AKQA’s Senior Art Director, Sam Rowlands, and Senior Copywriter, Connor Cunniffe, to explore the steps they took to produce a revolutionary tool for gender equity.

Lovie Award Winners represent Europe’s leading visionaries.

To stand alongside this group, submit your work in the 14th Annual Lovie Awards. Learn about where your work fits in our honours, including the annual Agency of the Year Award.

Stay tuned for the rest of the series, featuring Dr. Rebecca Gomperts, AFP News, Vaayu and more.
